Thanks to an anonymous donor, one of the four Sacred Heart Academy science labs was completely renovated in the summer of 2005. The SMART board enhances both the teaching and learning experiences. The new lab includes computer and internet wiring, new laboratory workstations, updated electrical, gas and plumbing components, and upgraded safety equipment. (posted June 7, 2007)
The gift of an anonymous donor enabled Sacred Heart Academy to replace all of the building’s windows during the summer of 2006, which had not been updated since the school was built in 1962. The new windows are the first step in modernizing the appearance of SHA, which will include a formal front entrance, a circular drive and a wider roadway. (posted June 7, 2007)
Dr. Cynthia Crabtree, president of Ursuline Campus Schools, helps in the demolition of St. Jude Hall, an unused building on campus that was removed to make way for a new road that will tie the east and west ends of campus. Construction on road improvements took place during the summer or 2007.
In August 2007, a groundbreaking took place at Sacred Heart Academy for the Cissy Musselman Connector, which will connect the main building and gymnasium. The 4,000 sq. ft. connector will house a weight room, concession stand and hall of fame, as well as further enhance the security of the buildings. Construction on the project began in September and was completed in May 2008.
