UCS Elementary Gymnasium
The current elementary gymnasium, built in 1957, has served the campus well, but no longer meets the needs of UCS. A new gymnasium will allow Sacred Heart Model School, Ursuline Child Development Center and Ursuline Montessori School to continue to meet the mission of educating the whole person by providing our elementary and preschool students with state-of-the-art physical education opportunities. With 91 percent of its students participating in after-school sports, the Model School will also be able to expand its comprehensive, competitive athletic program for all elementary age students. Additionally, the new gym will continue to serve as a community space that will benefit the St. Matthews community as a first-class rental facility.
