In an effort to keep quality, Catholic education as affordable as possible, the actual expense of educating each child is covered by a combination of tuition and fees, proceeds from the annual fundraiser, Interlude, and the annual fund campaign. To ensure the continuation of excellence that marks Ursuline Campus Schools, including Sacred Heart Academy, Sacred Heart Model School, Ursuline Child Development Center, Ursuline Montessori School, and Ursuline School for the Performing Arts, it is important for families to support their child's school in all three ways.
Annual Fund The annual fund drive helps cover the operating expenses at each of the five schools. Annual gifts benefit every current student by providing instructional resources, helping keep student-to-teacher ratios low, and for some schools it helps provide tuition assistance for students in need. The money raised for each school is spent on that school, within the school year it is raised.
Interlude
This campus-wide fundraiser is held every September in conjunction
with the Ursuline Campus Art Fair. Proceeds from the dinner, auction,
and raffle directly benefit the five Campus schools. Interlude is
the only major fundraising event that families are asked to support.
Capital
Campaign Annual Fund and Interlude income supports the
annual operating expenses of our five campus schools but does not
fund long-term facility needs, such as construction or renovation
of buildings. Occasionally, the UCS trustees identify essential
facility needs, and all campus schools parents, alumni and
their parents, grandparents, faculty/staff, and the trustees are
asked to make major gifts and pledges toward meeting these goals.
Endowment/Planned
Giving Endowments create institutional strength and provide
long-term financial stability. Endowments to UCS or one of its five
campus schools may be specific to the wishes of the donor or to
the specific needs of the campus or one of its schools. These gifts
may expand academic programs and/or update physical features of
the school and its facilities.

Our Future Begins with You
If
you are like many of our friends, you may be considering making
a financial gift in support of Ursuline Campus Schools (UCS) or
directing a gift to one of its five schools: Sacred Heart Academy,
Sacred Heart Model School, Ursuline Child Development Center, Ursuline
Montessori School, and Ursuline School for the Performing Arts;
however, you may be unsure as to the type of contribution that would
be most beneficial to you, your family, and your chosen benefactor.
There are many charitable gift options available today that serve
to fulfill charitable wishes while providing you and your loved
ones with economic security. We are grateful to our generous friends
for ensuring our future by including UCS or one of its five schools
as part of their planned giving.
Below
are some of the charitable gift options you may wish to consider.
Please consult your personal financial advisor or attorney when
considering your planned giving.
- Cash, Stock,
Real Property - Gifts of cash, stocks, and real property provide
varying tax deductions for the donor. Certain factors must be
addressed prior to a charitable organization accepting real estate
or personal property.
- Gift by
Will or Revocable Living Trust - A planned gift through a will
allows you to make a donation in a fixed financial amount, property,
percentage of estate, etc. For sample language, click
here.
- Charitable
Remainder Annuity Trust - This type of planned giving is an irrevocable
trust that features income based on the value of the property
donated.
- Gift Annuity
Agreement - A gift to a charitable organization can be made, while
the giver receives a fixed annual payment for life.
- Life Estate
Agreement - Under this arrangement, the title to a residence is
transferred to the charitable organization while the donor retains
the right to live in and enjoy the property for life.
- Charitable
Lead Trust - This arrangement provides income to a charitable
organization for a designated period of time.
- Life Insurance
or Retirement Accounts - Under this arrangement, accounts can
be made wholly or partially payable to charity upon death, while
retaining full lifetime control. Making retirement accounts payable
to charity upon death may result in both income tax and estate
tax savings.
