Challenging each child for personal success
Sacred Heart Model School is a co-educational school for children from kindergarten through eighth grade. It is a school in the Roman Catholic tradition which embraces cultural diversity and all religious faiths. The Model School seeks to challenge each child as an individual and prepare him or her for achieving both academic and personal success.

The small class size keeps everyone actively involved in learning, while the nurturing, supportive environment encourages the development of basic skills and problem-solving abilities that will serve the student for life. Highly trained, caring faculty involve themselves personally with all aspects of a student's learning experience.

A Model School since 1924
The school has its roots with the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville who established Sacred Heart Academy for grades 1–12 on the present day Lexington Road campus more than a century ago. Increases in enrollment and new developments in educational thinking led to the formation of two schools in 1924: Sacred Heart Academy for grades 9-12 and Sacred Heart Model School for grades 1–8.

The second institution was named a "model" school as a reference to the training of teachers from Ursuline College (which merged with Bellarmine University in 1968). Because the name exemplifies use of the best and most progressive teaching practices, the school remains a Model School.

Sacred Heart Model School offers its students courses in the following major subjects
