Ursuline Campus Schools announces 2007 Christmas card contest winner

LOUISVILLE, KY (November 2007) - Dr. Cynthia Crabtree, president of Ursuline Campus Schools, has announced that Anna Loring, a dance student at the Ursuline School for the Performing Arts, has been named the winner of the 2007 Ursuline Campus Schools Christmas Card Contest. The contest is open to all students at each of the five Ursuline Campus schools, which include Sacred Heart Academy, Sacred Heart Model School, Ursuline Child Development Center, Ursuline Montessori School and Ursuline School for the Performing Arts.

Anna’s water color depiction of the nativity will be reproduced on a Christmas card that will be mailed to nearly 3,000 campus families and friends. Anna’s painting was inspired by her family’s nativity set, which, like her painting, has a faceless Mary and Joseph. “I think our nativity set is very pretty even though it is simple,” she explained. She chose to use paint pens for this project, although she works with Crayons and pastels most often when being creative. “I enjoy art because your mind is free. You can do what ever you want."

Anna attends The Brown School and is in the fourth grade. She is a Level V ballet student at Ursuline School for the Performing Arts and is also a member of the USPA Dance Company. She will perform in the Moscow Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker in Louisville on November 25. She plays the bass in The Brown School’s orchestra and also enjoys basketball.

As the winner of the Christmas card contest, Anna received $100.
