Ursuline School for the Performing Arts holds auditions for wind ensemble and string orchestra

LOUISVILLE, KY (July 2007) - Ursuline School for the Performing Arts, a member of Ursuline Campus Schools, will hold auditions for its wind ensemble and string orchestra for students in grades 8 – 12 on Monday, August 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. Students must be able to play their instruments at the intermediate level or above.

The wind ensemble includes flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, baritone, French horn, tuba, and percussion instrumentalists. The string orchestra includes violin, viola, cello, bass, and percussion instrumentalists.

Rehearsals for the wind ensemble will on Sundays, 7:00-8:30 p.m. during the school year, beginning September 9. Rehearsals for the string orchestra will be on Mondays, 7:00-8:30 p.m., beginning September 10.

Auditions and rehearsals will take place at Ursuline School for the Performing Arts, Angela Hall, bldg. 17, 3105 Lexington Rd. Call 897-1816 for more information and to schedule an audition time.

Ursuline School for the Performing Arts (USPA), a member of Ursuline Campus Schools, sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, is fully-accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and provides opportunities for students of all ages who wish to pursue careers in the performing arts or who simply want to enrich their lives through music, dance, drama or the visual arts. USPA programs are open to the public, complement those offered by other schools on campus, and encourage students to explore meanings, associations and interpretations of their encounters with the arts.
