Sacred Heart Academy and Ursuline School for the Performing Arts present Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
LOUISVILLE, KY (October 2006) -
The Wild West explodes on the Ursuline stage when girls from Sacred Heart Academy (SHA) and boys from Trinity and St. Xavier high schools make up the cast of the musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, presented at 8 p.m. November 9-11 and 16-18. A special performance for area schools will be November 10 at 9:30 a.m. All shows are in Ursula Auditorium (Bldg. #5) on the Ursuline Campus at 3105 Lexington Rd.
Set in Oregon in 1850, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers tells the story of Adam who goes to town to find himself a wife. Millie, who agrees to Adam’s proposal, is surprised when she is greeted back at the mountain cabin by Adam’s six uncouth brothers, all anxious to find wives of their own! Dazzling dance routines and 16 show-stopping songs, including “Sobbin Women,” “Bless Your Hide,” “Goin’ Courtin,” “Wonderful, Wonderful Day,” “Spring, Spring, Spring,” and “Love Never Goes Away,” make Seven Brides for Seven Brothers a lively production not to be missed.
Tickets are $8 for students/senior citizens and $10 for adults. Groups of 15 or more receive $1 off per ticket. Performances are open to the public, and reservations may be made by calling the Ursuline School for the Performing Arts (USPA) at 897-1816.

Ursuline School for the Performing Arts (USPA), a member of Ursuline Campus Schools, sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, is fully-accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and provides opportunities for students of all ages who either wish to pursue careers in the performing arts or who simply want to enrich their lives through music, dance, drama, or the visual arts. USPA programs are open to the public, complement those offered by other schools on campus, and encourage students to explore meanings, associations and interpretations of their encounters with the arts. In addition, arts integration classes taught by USPA faculty during the school day are an important component of the educational offerings of the other four Ursuline Campus schools. USPA is housed in Angela Hall, with modern music and dance studios, rehearsal areas, and performance spaces. http://www.ucschools.com/uspa
