Leapin’ Lizards! — Ursuline School for the Performing Arts presents Annie

LOUISVILLE, KY (October 2006) - Youth from 11 area elementary and middle schools perform in the heartwarming and entertaining musical Annie on the Ursuline stage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, October 27 and 28. All shows will be in Ursula Auditorium (Bldg. #5) on the Ursuline Campus at 3105 Lexington Rd.

Annie is the rags to riches story of the popular comic strip heroine Little Orphan Annie and her faithful dog, Sandy. Oliver Warbucks is Annie’s only hope of escaping Miss Harrigan and her dismal orphanage. Will Annie’s dream of finding a family come true? Packed with memorable songs including “Tomorrow,” Hard Knock Life,” You’re Never Fully Dressed without a Smile,” and “NYC,” Annie is a musical the entire family will enjoy!

Tickets are $4 for students/senior citizens and $6 for adults. Performances are open to the public, and reservations may be made by calling the Ursuline School for the Performing Arts (USPA) at 897-1816. Annie is presented by the Intermediate and Youth Drama students at USPA.

Ursuline School for the Performing Arts (USPA), a member of Ursuline Campus Schools, sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, is fully-accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and provides opportunities for students of all ages who either wish to pursue careers in the performing arts or who simply want to enrich their lives through music, dance, drama, or the visual arts. USPA programs are open to the public, complement those offered by other schools on campus, and encourage students to explore meanings, associations and interpretations of their encounters with the arts. In addition, arts integration classes taught by USPA faculty during the school day are an important component of the educational offerings of the other four Ursuline Campus schools.
