Ursuline Montessori School, a preschool for children ages 2 – 6, has been a staple in the St. Matthews community for nearly 40 years. Modeled after the classic work of Dr. Maria Montessori, UMS aims to nurture and cultivate each child's natural desire to learn. At UMS, which is associated with the American Montessori Society, children pursue their individual interests with guidance in a carefully prepared environment. UMS students enjoy a unique Montessori-designed preschool building on the 48-acre Ursuline Campus located on Lexington Road. UMS is one of the five Catholic schools that comprises Ursuline Campus Schools and is sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville.
