Sacred Heart Academy graduates receive special awards
LOUISVILLE, KY (June 2007) -
Dr. Beverly McAuliffe, principal of Sacred Heart Academy, has announced that the following members of the Class of 2007 were presented with special awards.
Jenna Steltenpohl was named Miss Sacred Heart. This prestigious award recognizes a senior who represents Sacred Heart’s core values of leadership, service, reverence and community. Miss Sacred Heart, who is nominated by faculty and staff, demonstrates in words and actions a genuine love for her school, her fellow students, the faculty and the staff.
Katherine Fenton received the St. Angela Award for her daily and year-long commitment to the Ursuline core values of community, leadership, reverence, and service. The award is given by the Ursuline Campus Schools Office of Mission Effectiveness and is named after St. Angela Merici, who founded the Company of St. Ursula.
Other special awards presented to the Class of 2007 included: The 110 Percent Effort Award – Blair Kmetz; Bunny Daugherty Unsung Hero Award – Brittany Coppola and Catey Harwell; Four-year Service Award – Robyn Ballinger; and SHA Alumnae Association Outstanding Senior Award – Katherine Fenton and Courtney Sprigg.
Members of the SHA Class of 2007 earned nearly 430 academic and athletic scholarship offers, in excess of $15 million, and have been accepted to over 130 colleges and universities across the United States. The graduates provided over 25,000 hours of service to the Louisville community in four years at Sacred Heart. Of the 197 graduates, 28 have mothers who are alumna of SHA and 16 have grandmothers who are alumna.

Sacred Heart Academy (SHA), founded in 1877 by the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, is a member of Ursuline Campus Schools, and is a college preparatory secondary school for girls. Sacred Heart is the only Catholic high school in Kentucky to offer the International Baccalaureate program, and 99 percent of SHA graduates attend hundreds of colleges and universities across the country. In addition to being a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, SHA celebrates more than 70 state athletic championship titles.
