Sacred Heart Model School Honors Alumni of the Year at All-Class Reception

LOUISVILLE, KY (May 2007) - Alumni of Sacred Heart Model School are invited to an all-class reception on Friday, May 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Model School, bldg. 1, on the Ursuline Campus at 3105 Lexington Rd. The Alumni of the Year award will also be presented to the 2007 honorees Esther Barker McNerney and Matthew Dolan for their commitment and service to others.

McNerney graduated from SHMS in 1964 and from Sacred Heart Academy in 1968. She is a graduate of the University of Texas. McNerney has been a voice for Louisville children for a number of years in her volunteer role as a court appointed special advocate with the family court. She is also active with the Women’s Club and served on the Bellarmine University Women’s Council. McNerney is a member of the Queen’s Daughter Association and served on the Kosair Children’s Auxiliary Board and Kosair Foundation Board. She and her husband, Rod, are members of Holy Spirit and have four children.

Dolan is a 1984 graduate of SHMS. He is a nurse anesthetist in the U. S. Army. Dolan earned his bachelor’s degree from U of K and his master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati. He has earned a number of nursing certifications, including flight nurse certification, critical care RN, advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support. Prior to his military service Dolan worked at the University of Kentucky Medical Center as a staff nurse in the trauma ICU, as a staff development instructor and as both an acute pain and critical care nurse. Dolan volunteers his time to an animal rescue agency in the community where he is currently based, and is a member of the Kiyojute Ryu Kempo Christian Martial Arts Association, based in Frankfort, Ky.
